Abstract
Alcohol is not only found in certain food and beverage products, but also most widely used in cosmetics, perfumes, skin care products and personal care products. In this regard, this study will look at the status of alcohol found in Shariah-based cosmetic products in Malaysia. Therefore, this article presents a review of the status of alcohol in Islam and science as well as to discover types of alcohol in cosmetic products. Besides that, this article will also explain the law of alcohol in cosmetics product according to Shariah. Hence, types of alcohol in cosmetic products will have implications for communities based on halal and haram.

Abstract
Pereskia bleo (Kunt) DC is a leafy cactus species traditionally used by locals in Malaysia for treatments of various ailments known to be due to its high total phenolic content (TPC). There are a number of procedures in extracting TPC from plant materials. This paper reports a study conducted on maximizing microwave-assisted extraction of TPC, expressed as gallic acid equivalent (GAE), from leaves of the species using one variable at a time method (OVAT). The study establishes that the best solvent for extraction of TPC from leaves was ethanol with concentrations ranging from 20-40%. Solvent to solid ratio was set at 1:30. The best extraction time and microwave power to obtain high yield of TPC ranged from 30 to 60 seconds and from 40W to 50W, respectively. The study presents a simple and efficient non-conventional method of extraction of TPC from Pereskia bleo simplifying extraction procedure in an attempt at exploiting the potentials of the species as a source novel therapeutic agent. In the future, anti-inflammatory activities of Pereskia bleo will be investigated and the preliminary study on the extracts is for future halal and organic formulation.

Abstract
Laboratory operation requires relevant guidelines and standards to ascertain the halal laboratory to be accepted at the international level. Common worldwide guidelines and standards for laboratory are -International Organization for Standardization 17025- (ISO 17025), -Good Manufacturing Practice- (GMP), and -Good Laboratory Practice- (GLP). In halal analysis, the laboratory shall comply with ISO 17025, GMP, and -Good Hygiene Practice- (GHP) as stated in the -Manual Procedure for Malaysia Halal Certification- (MPPHM). This article predominantly discusses the basic requirement of laboratory operation, specifically for halal analysis. The study is based on a reliable primary source of several international guidelines and standards (ISO 17025, GMP, and GLP) as compared with -Malaysia Halal Standards-. The study shows that common worldwide guidelines and standards are components of halal laboratory with the addition of Islamic fundamental and practices. Consequently, the halal laboratory operates competently to generate a valid test result. Besides, the implication as such practice promotes confidence in the halal laboratory-s work both nationally and internationally, thus improves international trade.

Abstract
Local production of agricultural waste is increasing. It is not fully utilized and can cause an environmental issue if it is not handle wisely. Thus, it is important to increase utilization of lignocellulosic biomass by improving their added value and subsequently decrease the agriculture waste. In this study, rice straw and Leucaena leucocephala were subjected to alkali treatment (4% sodium hydroxide) such with different concentration ratio of sampel to sodium hydroxide (1:10 to 1:50). The physical and chemical properties of extracted hemicelluloses were studied. The yield of hemicellulose was higher from rice straw compared to Leucaena l.. The chemical functional groups present in hemicellulose were confirmed by Fourier tranform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The surface morphology and roughnesses of xylan were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Abstract
This research based of the problem of the number of scientific publications in Indonesia that are still low. The lack of researchers is presumed to be one of the reasons that the number of international publications is still low if compared with other countries. In addition to the above, another problem is that the number of scientific documents in Indonesia is still low in the Southeast Asian region. The above problems are caused by many factors, including (1). Researchers often experience difficulties in obtaining references to both books and journals that support their research, (2). Researchers find it difficult to find research partners who have scientific similarities and interests in one research topic. The purpose of this study is to answer the above problems through an application called thinkgather.com. The purpose of this study was to design and build an application as an interactive medium for researchers. One of the advantages of this application is being able to connect between one researcher and another researcher in one social media. This research was designed to have 3 stages of research, namely the preliminary study and data collection stage, the planning and preparation stage, the limited scale trial stage, the large-scale trial and improvement. It is expected that the thinkgather.com application can become a means of researchers as a media discussion and facilitate researchers in finding partners in the research that will be carried out.
